Please note: This programme is a City & Guilds accredited programme. Learners will receive a C&G accredited certificate. C&G accreditation evaluates bespoke courses against a benchmark, to ensure that they meet C&G standards and provides learners with external validation to demonstrate the quality of the course.
This training programme is designed for anyone requiring knowledge of how to protect electrical and electronic systems in building structures by the use of surge protection type 1, 2, 3 arresters.
Programme Information
The training programme will include a presentation. There will be end point assessments in the form of a multiple-choice assessment and PAWS, (practical assessment work scenario).
Programme Stucture
- Earthing arrangements
- Introduction of BS EN 62305-4:2011 into BS 7671
- Lightning damage statistics
- Lightning/surge protection zone concepts
- Understanding the terminology used for Type 1, 2, 3 regarding 10/350 and 8/20
- Single entry point concept
- Choosing correct arrester for Mains incoming, sub-distribution and final sub-circuit.
