Amendment 2 to BS7671:2018 (18th edition of the IET Wiring Regulations) was released on 28th March 2022 and introduced a number of important changes.

These changes include a new requirement for Arc Fault Detection Devices (AFDDs), updated requirements for the safety design for buildings and a new chapter on Prosumer’s Low Voltage Electrical Installations.

The previous version of the wiring requirements (BS 7671:2018+A1:2020) will be withdrawn on 27th September 2022. This means that any new work from this date must conform to the new Amendment 2.
