ETT’s Stay Connected industry event is a great opportunity for those who are serious about investing in and maintaining their Continuous Professional Development.

What is Continuing Professional Development?

Put simply, Continuing Professional Development, most commonly known as CPD, is keeping up to date with professional knowledge and skills that are needed for your work or profession.

Why is CPD important?

Most industry bodies require evidence of CPD as part of their membership criteria.  For example, the Electrotechnical Assessment Specification (EAS) requires evidence of ongoing CPD for operatives to be deemed as technically competent by a certification or registration body.  Members of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), are also required to provide evidence of CPD, with the Institute recommending that professionally active members complete at least 30 hrs of CPD in a calendar year.
