FCS Services Ltd demonstrate their commitment to safe isolation

On Friday 15th March, we welcomed the FCS Services Ltd team, along with Stewart Nelson, NICEIC representative to ETT for a half day workshop on the safe isolation of low voltage supply and circuits.

The training with FCS Services Ltd followed on from the ‘Save Our Spark’s’ NI Safe Isolation Session at ETT’s Stay Connected 2023 Industry event. The ‘Save Our Sparks’ campaign was inspired by Michael’s Story. Michael Adamson was just 26 when he died after coming into contact with mains voltage power in an incident at work in August 2005. His sister, Louise Adamson, began Michael’s Story as a way to engage with electrical workers and business owners about the risks of poor electrical safety.

It’s great to see FCS demonstrate their commitment to safe isolation practices by investing in CPD training for all of their electrical staff.  In addition to this, FCS have taken their commitment to workplace safety one step further and have invested in Safe Isolation kits for those who completed ETT’s training.   FCS have also benefited from ETT’s collaboration with CEF who are providing safe isolation kits for ETT course attendees at the discounted price £79.95 (a saving of £45 per kit).

ETT’s aim is to work with employers and electricians across NI to raise awareness of the need for safer working practices in the electrical industry, encouraging more people to work safer, and help ensure Michael’s Story doesn’t happen again.
