18th Edition plans for course delivery three days and one day update

The Institution of Engineering and Technology will shortly publish the new blue book version of the 18th Edition of the Wiring Requirements. From the 1st July through to 31st December 2018 designers and installers may use either the 17th or 18th Edition as a basis for achieving the minimum British Standard for electrical installation work in the UK.

The obligation upon designers and installers to be solely compliant with the requirements of the 18th Edition version commences on the 1st January 2019.

Accredited Training and CPD Options

Candidates who have previously attained an accredited award covering Amendment 3 of the 17th Edition BS7671:2015 will be eligible to undertake a one-day training update course. A two-hour on-line multi-choice examination will be used to assess these candidates.

For candidates who have achieved an accredited award prior to Amendment 3 of the current edition, it will be necessary for them to undertake a full three-day training course in preparation for the two-hour on-line multi-choice examination.
